FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) -Hurricane Ian is battling the southwest Florida coast and will continue to move inland through the evening and then south of Jacksonville before moving out to the Atlantic.

The storm is expected to curve north as a tropical storm and move back on shore into South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. During the next few days rain will spread as far north as eastern Kentucky and West Virginia and possibly into eastern Ohio. With this movement little or no rain will be had here. A shift further west once inland could bring us rain but at this point seems unlikely.
