FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The recycling drop-off site located at Southgate Plaza will be closing permanently, the Allen County Department of Environmental Management said Wednesday.

The department says the closure is because the property managers for Southgate Plaza, Kellams Properties, have requested that the trailer be removed.

The last day to drop off recycling at the Southgate Plaza location will be Saturday, August 13.

Residents can continue to drop off recycling at other locations across the city and county.

Household items can be dropped off at 2509 E. Pontiac Street, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

Other locations include:

  • Northwest, near 2 Fort Recovery Rd
  • Leo-Cedarville, 14701 Schwartz Rd
  • Monroeville, 110 W. South St
