FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Amp Lab at Electric Works will open its doors to students for the new school year next Wednesday.

But first, leaders of the new Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) program welcomed the community to get a glimpse of the innovative entrepreneurship program located in the former GE campus.

After four years of planning and a year of construction, FWCS gave students and parents a chance to see and learn about the four studios, including the 3Rivers Federal Credit Union Venture Studio.

Once the school year starts, 11th and 12th-grade students from five district high schools will attend the half-day program. With 200 hundred students attending in the morning and 200 hundred students attending in the afternoon.

The Amp Lab is the first space at Electric Works to open its doors giving students a unique view of the transformation taking place on the campus.

Fort Wayne’s NBC will have more on the Amp Lab next week on FWCS’ first day of school.
