DEFIANCE COUNTY, OH. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Two juveniles were seriously injured in a crash in Defiance County Sunday night, three others were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says emergency crews were called to the intersection of Ridenour and Scott roads, in Farmer Township, just after 11 p.m.
Investigators believe the driver of a Ford Fusion, going south on Ridenour Road, failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck the passenger side of a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Adam Goebel, 33, of Montpelier, Ohio. Officers say Goebel was driving east on Scott Road when the crash happened.
Goebel and his juvenile passenger were taken to Bryan E.R. with non-life-threatening injuries, officers say. The driver of the Ford Fusion, who was also a juvenile, was taken to Hicksville for non-life-threatening injuries. Two juvenile passengers in the Ford Fusion were flown by Samaritan to Parkview Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Investigators say seatbelts were used by everyone involved in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
