FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for high heat on Tuesday, July 5th. Temperatures will hit the mid 90s, but heat indices will push into the triple digits during the late afternoon and early evening. Also, rounds of storms are expected to move into the area on Tuesday as well.

The humidity will make it feel uncomfortable at times on Tuesday as heat indices max out in the triple digits across the region. Make sure to take breaks in the A/C, stay hydrated, and check in on others that are more sensitive to the heat.

On top of the heat, two rounds of storms are possible in the next 48 hours that will provide some much needed rain (and could bring some strong winds as well). Storm development is conditional and will be tricky to pin down. At this point, storm chances could greatly strengthen or weaken over the next 24 hours. Stick with us for updates and have a way to receive weather alerts if severe weather develops.
