ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Free help from the Allen County Highway Department to pick up storm debris following the recent derecho is ending next week.

The department says the last pick-up will be on Friday, July 8. The county announced on June 17 that it would help those who live outside of city limits collect yard waste following the June 13 derecho.

If you need a collection and you live in Aboite, Lafayette, Pleasant, or Marion Center townships, call the highway department’s south barn at 260-449-4791 to make the request. Residents in the Eel River and Lake townships can call the north barn at 449-4781. The requests should be for yard waste only, household waste will not be collected.
