Fort Wayne man sentenced in fatal 2021 shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - An Allen County Judge has formally sentenced the man who was found guilty in a 2021 homicide.
In court on Friday, John Vires was sentenced to 75 years behind bars after he was found guilty in April this year of murder and a firearm enhancement.
Police say they were called to the 1600 block of Franklin Ave. on September 22, 2021, on reports of a shooting. They say 37-year-old William H. Erhardt was pronounced dead at the scene, and his death was ruled a homicide.
