FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The City of Fort Wayne is honoring yet another resident for their military service.
The “Blue Star Banners” are displayed on light poles going east along West Jefferson Boulevard to Swinney Park. The program was started by Mayor Henry in 2014 and has recognized over 100 Fort Wayne residents and City workers who have been actively deployed.
Friday, a new banner was added to honor Private First Class Jackson C. Connelly of the U.S. Army.
Anyone who wishes to apply for a banner to honor their loved one’s service can do so online at the City’s website.
