HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Huntertown Fire Department says no one was injured following a house fire Wednesday evening thanks to help from several area departments.

The department says they were called to a home in the Ravenswood subdivision around 6:15 p.m. Dispatch says they received a call from an off-duty officer about the fire, saying he was able to help two people inside safely escape.

Fire crews arrived and found smoke coming from the roof and garage area of the two-story home. They say they found fire outside of the home near an electrical unit, which was quickly spreading to the attic and into a second-floor window.

With assistance from area fire departments, crews had the fire under control in about 30 minutes and no one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
