FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A Fort Wayne woman who police say caused a fatal crash back in 2021 will be in court Tuesday for an initial hearing.

39-year-old Veronica Holloway is charged with causing death when operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.

Probable cause documents say the crash happened on April 21, 2021, at the intersection of Illinois and Noyer Roads. A witness told police Holloway failed to yield the right of way to a car driven by 67-year-old Lawrence Moran II, causing the collision. The Allen County Coroner said Moran was then taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Documents say a toxicology test showed she had THC in her system at the time of the crash. She is due in court Tuesday morning for her initial hearing.
