CARMEL, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A team from Fort Wayne’s NBC accepted the Emmy Award for Evening Newscast and anchor Linda Jackson was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Central Great Lakes chapter as one of this year’s Silver Circle honorees at the 53rd annual ceremony, held Saturday night in Carmel.

The event marked a return to an in-person awards ceremony following two years in which the presentation was virtual, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This year’s banquet was hosted at the Lucas Estate and sponsored by the Indianapolis Colts.

A November edition of “Fort Wayne’s NBC News at 11″ was the award recipient for evening newscast. Two Fort Wayne’s NBC newscasts were among the three nominees in a category that includes medium-sized television markets from Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Jackson was recognized as a new inductee into the Silver Circle, an honor given to those who have performed exemplary work in broadcasting in a career spanning at least 25 years. A separate ceremony for the honorees is set for July in Ohio.

Jackson was also a presenter at Saturday’s gala.
