ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Allen County residents are asked to report any property damage caused by last week’s derecho, the Allen County Office of Homeland Security said on Wednesday.

The office says reports will help determine whether or not Allen County is eligible for federal and state assistance following the June 13 derecho that left tens of thousands without power. In a release, officials say initial assessments by the office have been completed, but there is concern that some residents who are dealing with damage may have been missed.

Residents can report property damages by completing an online assessment form, available here. They say residents can also call the Allen County Office of Homeland Security office at 260-449-4663 or email homelandsecurity@allencounty.us for help completing the assessment form or to ask questions. The assessment deadline is July 1.
