Allen County Coroner IDs man found in pond

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the name and official cause of death of the 81-year-old man that had been reported missing on June 4 and was the subject of a Silver Alert.

Steven Edward Clemmer, from Fort Wayne, was found in a pond behind the 1700 block of Woodland Crossing, the coroner’s office said. Fort Wayne Police had been searching for Clemmer in the area for a couple of days before finding him in the bond.

Clemmer’s cause of death was drowning, after an autopsy, the coroner’s office said. Clemmer’s death has been ruled an accident by the coroner’s office.

The incident is under investigation.
