Fort Wayne Police: Body of missing person recovered

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) has confirmed that the body of a missing Fort Wayne man that was the subject of a Silver Alert on Saturday, has been recovered from a neighborhood pond.
FWPD says 81-year-old Steven Clemmer was reported missing around 6 p.m. in the area of 1500 Sevan Lake Court, in the Woodland Lake Addition. Police say all resources were used in searching for Clemmer, including drones, volunteers from the Indiana Search and Response team along with trail and human remains detection dogs. The Fort Wayne Fire Department also searched the ponds in the area, FWPD said.
FWPD says around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Clemmer’s body was recovered from a pond behind 9600 Hera Court, in the Woodlan Lake Addition.
Clemmer’s cause and manner of death will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
