FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations says The Fort’s annual Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday afternoon.

They say this year’s parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30. This year’s parade theme is “Honoring the Fallen.”

In a release sent by Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, organizers say the parade lineup begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Nettie and Parnell Avenue. They say the opening ceremony is slated to begin at 11 a.m., and the parade will travel north on Parnell Avenue and head to the Memorial Coliseum.

Once there, they say members will place wreaths, play taps, and remember fallen brothers and sisters-in-arms. Organizers will also host a ceremony outside the Coliseum Memorial Hall at the Veteran’s Plaza at the end of the parade.

Organizers say guests attending the Memorial Day ceremony will be directed to enter the Parnell Avenue employee parking lot entrance (#4) on the west side of the complex.
