Several sent to hospital as fire destroys home in Monroeville

MONROEVILLE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A pre-dawn fire on Sunday burned down a house in Monroeville and sent several people to the hospital.
Firefighters were called to the area near the 14400 block of SR 101 South shortly before 4:30 a.m. The Monroeville fire chief said that he is uncertain if all of those at the residence are accounted for, but said several people were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were unknown.
Crews remained on scene tending to hot spots and investigating the incident throughout the morning. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
More information was expected via the sheriff’s department later in the day.
The location of the fire is near Hoagland Road in southeastern Allen County.
