Huntington, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Huntington’s iconic restaurant, Pizza Junction, went up in flames Friday afternoon.

The fire started while the restaurant was open, but everyone was able to escape without any injuries.

It’s a gut punch for our community

Huntington Mayor Richard Strick

Huntington Mayor Richard Strick says he has spoken to the owners who are still trying to process everything. Mayor Strick says the owner’s main concern is for their employees. The restaurant employs 30 people and has been in business for 30 to 40-years, the Mayor said.

Mayor Strick says the owners have been there for so many of the folks in the community of Huntington on some of their worst days and they will demonstrate that the community will be there for them like they have been for there for the community.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
