FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A large upper level ridge is developing across half the country for this week, bringing near record-breaking warmth to several states. We’ll likely see our warmest temperatures of the year so far within the next few days.

Expect passing clouds tonight as temperatures sink into the upper 40s, tonight will be the coolest temperature we’ll experience in the next week. The warm-up kicks off as early as tomorrow. Monday will reach into the mid to upper 70s across NE Indiana and NW Ohio with gusty conditions throughout the day. Winds will breeze up to 30 to 35 miles per hour.

The wind backs down on Tuesday but temps continue to ramp up. Tuesday will be our first 80 degree day of the week with sunshine expected. The 80s will stick through the rest of the week, with heat indices pushing the 90s. Fairly quiet and dry weather will accompany the summertime temps. It’s a great week to get outside, do some planting, or go on a walk. Enjoy the beautiful forecast ahead and take it easy in the sun!

Our next chance for rain or storms won’t get here until the weekend.
