FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Earth Day celebrations continued in Fort Wayne Sunday at the Eagle Marsh with leaders from the Little Rivers Wetlands Project.

Sunday they unveiled a new floating trail meant for more people to be able to explore the marsh. The trail is ADA accessible and leaders say you can see views of the wildlife as people walk down it.

Little Rivers Wetland Project Executive Director Amy Silva says it’s important for the community to understand what wetlands mean to our environment. The Sunday events featured dozens of area conservation partners each focused on teaching people about the wildlife and our environment.

There were food trucks, local art and activities celebrating Earth Day all day long. Silva says people were even able to see a live bald Eagle’s nest.
