HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Officers converged on a vehicle in Huntington and took two people inside it into custody following a shooting earlier Wednesday in Grant County.

The Huntington County Sheriff’s Department said it spotted the vehicle as it was making its way to Fort Wayne. It was headed north on SR 9 and failed to stop when first approached. Later, officials said, the car pulled over and two people were apprehended without incident.

The stop followed a shooting in the 600 block of Grant Street in Marion around 9 a.m. One person was struck in the lower body and taken to a hospital.

The vehicle pulled over in Huntington County showed what appear to be multiple gunshots to the front windshield. There was no immediate indication on whether more than one person fired a weapon.
