NACS Board follows CDC and lifts mask requirement on school transport vehicles

Board unanimously votes for mask-optional procedure

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Friday, Feb. 28, 2022) – At tonight’s Board of School Trustees meeting for Northwest Allen County Schools, the board unanimously approved a resolution immediately ending the mask requirement on school buses and activity vehicles for all NACS schools.

On Friday afternoon, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifted the mask mandate and allowed schools to make their own decisions regarding masks on school buses and vans.

The NACS Board responded by quickly taking action to apply a mask-optional procedure on its school buses and activity vehicles.

The NACS Board extended the mask-optional procedure to school buses and activity vehicles so that the mask procedures would be consistent for students, faculty, and staff throughout the school day.

Find the approved resolution attached. More information about NACS may be found at NACS serves an estimated 7,922 students in 11 schools spanning three townships in Allen County.
