FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A house fire late Friday night sent neighbors rushing to the aid of those inside.

Footage shows the dramatic rescue efforts, just after 10:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Wells Street. Smoke billows from the structure as those inside scramble to safety, assisted by several good Samaritans.

Fort Wayne Fire Department personnel arrived within moments and began work to put out the flames.

A witness said a dog inside the home died. We are awaiting details from fire officials on the cause and condition of those who escaped the smoke and flames.
