HUNTINGTON, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Huntington’s Catholic school is switching to e-learning for the week after 35% of students were absent on Monday. Multiple teams have also canceled games with the school, prompting a cancellation of all athletic activities for the week.
According to a letter from the school, 53 students were out Monday morning, similar to what the school experienced in late 2019 when the school closed for two days because of increased absences.
The school is extending the turn in classwork assignments for Tuesday because of the short notice to families who will need to find child care. The school will be posting assignments by 9 a.m. in Google Classroom.
