BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Suburban Indianapolis police say officers shot a man Friday morning after he pointed a gun at officers who found him hours after he had fled from a traffic stop.

Bargersville police spokesman Jeremy Roll says officers spotted the man about 7:45 a.m. Friday walking through backyards in the Johnson County town.

He says the man ran from officers, stopped near a barn and pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officers.

Rolls says officers then shot the man and he was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. The Indianapolis Star reports it was not immediately clear which police agency those officers belong to.
