FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The woman who was shot while in her car on Euclid Avenue on Sunday has died from her injuries, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Police responded to the 3000 block of Euclid Ave. Sunday, Dec. 5, on reports of a car crash and later found the driver of the car was shot at multiple times. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. The passenger was unharmed.

On Thursday, the coroner identified the victim as 20-year-old Ayania Starr Coker of Fort Wayne. Her cause of death was ruled to be a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.

Her death marks the 44th homicide in Allen County so far this year.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen Country Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
