WOWO’s two-day Penny Pitch radiothon begins Thursday
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The two-day WOWO Penny Pitch radiothon will be live Thursday and Friday at Sweetwater Sound, raising funds for GiGi’s Playhouse.
GiGi’s Playhouse, a network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, has been chosen as the recipient of this year’s Penny Pitch effort, the annual fundraiser that benefits nonprofits in northeast Indiana.
“Gigi’s Playhouse has such a strong imprint on Fort Wayne, not only enriching the lives of the Down Syndrome Families in their program but also making sure those kids give back and can become positive role models to everyone in our community and inspire us all to lead fulfilling lives,” WOWO Program Director Mike Ragz said.
The two-day radiothon at Sweetwater will run from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 10. WOWO will also be accepting donations online at WOWO.com/penny-pitch and will be holding an online auction, found within the Penny Pitch landing page at WOWO.com and also at https://pennyp2021.ggo.bid/bidding/package-browse.
Prizes this year include dinner with WOWO personalities, Fort Wayne Komets season tickets, a Purdue Fort Wayne/Fort Wayne Mad Ants suite combo, a day with the Fort Wayne Police Dept. SWAT team, and a 30-minute “discovery flight” in a Cirrus SR20 aircraft.
