NOTRE DAME, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Marcus Freeman’s introduction as the 30th head coach of Notre Dame football met with many cheers from a full house of Fighting Irish alumni, staff and student-athletes on Monday afternoon.

The son of a 26-year Air Force veteran, Freeman, mixed themes of hard work, discipline, leadership and love for his team throughout his first press conference as head coach of the Irish.

Notre Dame football players expressed their appreciation of Freeman and what he means to the united culture within the program after he spoke to the media.

Freeman, along with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, flew off in the athletic program’s private jet to continue recruiting, shortly, after the press conference.
