UPDATE: Via Facebook, Notre Dame has announced the official hiring of Marcus Freeman.

Previous Story: NOTRE DAME, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Notre Dame football is expected to name current defensive coordinator, Marcus Freeman, their next head coach, according to multiple reports.

Freeman joined the Fighting Irish in 2021 after leading Cincinnati to a top 20 defensive unit ranking in 2020.

The Notre Dame defense has allowed a total of just 23 points over the past four weeks with Freeman leading the unit, despite missing top player Kyle Hamilton.

Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees announced to the team on Wednesday night that he will be sticking with the Fighting Irish.
