Electric Works Amp Lab recruiting new students
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Recruitment for the first group of students for the Amp Lab at Electrics has begun in Fort Wayne.
Officials with Fort Wayne Community Schools say the Amp Lab is their new problem solving, design, think tank. The program uses entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity to teach students how to solve real world problems with community partners across industries.
Students will work hand-in-hand with businesses like Parkview, Do It Best and non-profits in the area.
The director of Amp Lab Riley Johnson says students will come out with experience and opportunities.
“Whether they decide to enlist, whether they have to pursue some sort of post-secondary degree,” Johnson said. “Whether through Ivy Tech or 4-year university, they come out feeling like they have to flounder a little bit.”
All current FWCS sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. There are info sessions taking place on November 18th and 23rd with an in-person session on December 2nd at the Face Center.
