FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - We will feel the effects of last night’s cold front this Friday and through the coming weekend as cold air settles in. It is much colder this morning with temperatures in the upper 30s. Bundle up but grab the sunglasses as skies clear and sunshine returns to the forecast. A mix of sun and clouds is in store this afternoon while high temperatures only reach the upper 40s following the front. There is a slight chance for a stray shower as the backside of the low pressure system that brought rain Thursday continues to swing through the Midwest.

It will get even colder as the weekend goes on. Highs will struggle to reach 40 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. With a chance for widespread showers Sunday and temperatures looking to dip below freezing through the evening, we could see a few snowflakes mix into those showers at times. No accumulation is expected but we could see our first snowflakes of the season. A sign of what’s to come as we head closer to winter!

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!
