PFW men’s and women’s basketball sweep opening night

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Both the Purdue Fort Wayne men’s and women’s basketball teams defended the Memorial Coliseum with 100-plus point performances on Tuesday’s opening night.

The PFW men beat Earlham, 103-54, behind strong performances in the backcourt.

Jalon Pipkins led head coach Jon Coffman’s squad with 19 points on the night.

The Mastodons women dominated their competition, as well, completing a, 102-35, final over Manchester, their largest victory since 1995.

Former Homestead star Sylare Starks delivered 21 points in her debut with the Dons.
