FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Two of the top bowlers in the country can be found practicing in Fort Wayne just about every single day.

Indiana Tech assistant coach Sydney Brummett and student-athlete Maryssa Carey are representing both the United States and their city.

“Honestly, every day was me picturing being in the spot where I am now,” Brummett said.

“I was just a really competitive young lady.”

Brummett is entering her fourth year on Team USA, after spending three years with Junior Team USA.

“Just a humbling feeling to know that I get to represent the country in my discipline, and just enjoy the moment.”

Now, Warriors junior Carey follows in Brummett’s footsteps qualifying for Junior Team USA for the first time.

“I was like wow, that happened,” Carey said.

Carey is the most decorated bowler in Indiana Tech history.
