FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - One of the biggest events of the year in Fort Waynes is now underway.

The 50th Annual Three Rivers Festival kicked off Friday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Junk Food Alley downtown.

The fryers are bubbling hot ready to crisp up anything from veggies to candy bars, and the Downtown Midway is open, too.

Spanning from Friday, July 13, to Saturday, July 21, the week-long festival brings food and fun to the Fort, from bed races, contests, art and fireworks.

The Three Rivers Parade begins Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. in downtown Fort Wayne.
