PERU, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Police say that a 58-year-old Peru man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, abused her, and shaved her head while holding her hostage in his home.

The man, identified as Rommie Walton, allegedly held the woman against her will after following her to work at kidnapping her.

The Peru Tribune reported that the victim told police she dyed her hair in order to disguise herself after leaving an abusive relationship with Walton.

But last week when she was headed to work, she noticed that Walton was following her in his car. She attempted to flee, but said her car broke down.

When Walton approached her, she said he called her names and cut her shirt and bra straps on her shoulders before allegedly threatening to stab her with the scissors.

He then took her to his house where he allegedly slapped, punched, and verbally attacked her. She said he also shaved her head because she dyed it to disguise herself.

Police later found her on Walton's front porch after she said he was passed out inside from being drunk.

Walton was arrested on Saturday and charged with domestic battery, criminal confinement, level 6 felony kidnapping, level 6 felony intimidation, and a misdemeanor for interfering with reporting of a crime.
