FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — A change of plea hearing will be held tomorrow for a Fort Wayne woman who stabbed a pregnant woman in 2017.

According to court documents, Shiqualla Wright was at a party on September 17, 2017, when she got into a fight with her twin sister, which a witness said Wright lost. The witness said Wright was intoxicated and was trying to fight other women at the party as well.

Another woman at the home tried to contain Wright in the kitchen, blocking the doorway into the living room.

A witness said Wright then got out of the kitchen and was waving around a serrated steak knife. She then charged into the living room, where the victim was standing next to the chair that the twin sister was in.

The witness said Wright charged toward the chair, stabbing the pregnant victim in the left side of her back. Court documents show that the victim told Wright she was pregnant earlier at the party. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.

Wright will be in court Tuesday, April 17, for a change of plea hearing.
