- 1930 - Future president Richard Nixon was born.
- 1965 - The Beatles' '65 album hit number one on this day and stayed there for nine weeks.
- 1990 - Madonna issued an ad in the newspaper looking for dancers to be a part of her world tour. The ad included the imfamous phrase "wimps and wannabes need not apply."
- 2007 - Steve Jobs debuted the iPhone. It officially went on sale six months later.
