FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- (Fort Wayne's NBC)  -- A 49-year-old Fort Wayne woman is facing charges after a man was found stabbed to death in a north side apartment Wednesday morning.

Kathleen Gale Theroit was arrested and is being held on the initial charges of aggravated battery and domestic battery. 

This stems from an incident that happened in the 4900 block of Northcrest Drive. 

Police were called to the apartment just after 3:30 a.m. and found a man who had been stabbed. 

Prosecutors could file more serious charges soon.

Police are investigating a stabbing that left one man dead in an apartment on Fort Wayne's north side early Wednesday morning. 

Police were called to the 4900 block of Northcrest Drive just after 3:30 a.m. to find a man inside an apartment suffering from a stab wound. 

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

Police believe the man was inside the apartment with the stabbing happened. 

The case is still under investigation.
