1 person seriously hurt in Fort Wayne shooting
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- One person is in serious condition after a shooting on the city's southeast side Memorial Day.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of Hoagland Avenue around 2:15 this afternoon on reports of shots fired.
Witnesses tell Fort Wayne's NBC News the shooting began in an apartment building.
The victim got into a car to leave, and witnesses tell us people got into another car and began shooting at the person trying to drive away.
Police say the victim was able to drive to the intersection of South Harrison and West Creighton before the person stopped the car.
The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition suffering from a bullet wound.
Police are still looking for suspects.
